Hello all, I hope the Holiday weekend rested everyone well, as it treated me. It’s been a long weekend, but I had one to remember. To start today’s blog, I’d like to announce I’m starting a new job as a Bitcoin ATM Salesman, an opportunity I am over the moon about. That is how I started my weekend. On Thursday, I spent a few hours in Lima working with my new boss. The rest of the day was spent with friends whom I haven’t seen in ages. It was an incredible day.
Friday I went to Columbus where I spent the day by the pool. Later in the evening I met up with some old friends and former roommates and played games while sipping adult beverages. I came home yesterday and did some work on the Bitcoin business and finally got a full nights rest, which was much needed.
A few things are on my mind today after the weekend. First, I’m more excited about the future than I have been for an extremely long time. I now have two jobs which I genuinely love, and have the opportunity to travel around the States for one of them. Life is going in a positive direction. It also feels good to have this blog as an outlet to express myself. It feels good to do the things I want to do. I’ve only recorded one episode, but it feels good to have the podcast started. I plan on recording an episode this evening with my friend Joey Moreland. I’ll post the link sometime this evening.
In the sports world, the US women cashed in just a few moments ago on the World Cup championship. As Rose Lavelle struck in the final and deciding goal, I was slightly overcome with emotion. Watching these incredibly talented women accomplish what they set out to do four years ago was something to behold. Four years of hard work, and dedication coming to fruition in one moment. It was inspiring. They have overcome loads of criticism, and pressure to become champions of the World. Truly remarkable. Hopefully, the men can duplicate their results in the Gold Cup final against Mexico this evening!
On Friday night, there was a 7.1 magnitude earthquake resisted 15 miles northwest of Los Angeles. However, this was nothing in comparison to the seismic earthquake that occurred in the League hours later early Saturday morning. The LA Clippers pulled off one of the craziest moves in NBA history at 2:00 A.M. eastern, when they acquired Paul George via trade from the Thunder, and subsequently signed Kawhi Leonard. The moves instantly moved the Clippers to the top of Vegas future books. They are currently favored to win the title next year at (+250).
The move is huge for a laundry list of reasons, but ultimately, parity is now a viable thing in the NBA for at least next year. The Clippers, Lakers, Warriors, Celtics, Sixers, Rockets, Blazers, Nuggets, Jazz, Nets and Bucks are all viable contenders for at least the next season. It is truly wide open. That’s just over a third of the league.
Free agency still isn’t over, as now teams are going to react to this signing, and more deals may be looming. It is an incredibly exciting time to be a fan of the NBA, and next season cannot get here quick enough.
